The Kansas City Chiefs will make their highly anticipated Super Bowl LVIII appearance, which will be their fourth one under the period of five seasons. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year and once again, they will try to win another Lombardi Trophy as well.
The two-time Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes, is leading the Chiefs against the stellar squad of the San Francisco 49ers. The quarterback who has become one of the top players in the NFL was picked in the 2017 Draft in the first round as the 10th overall pick.
Mahomes’ first year with the squad led them to the AFC Championship Game and the next year, the Chiefs were holding the Lombardi Trophy with Mahomes at the helm. The team to win back-to-back Super Bowl matches was the New England Patriots and the Mahomes and Co. believe in reaching that stage.

His league record is incredibly impressive, as many believe that he is the only one who can challenge the legacy of the NFL legend, Tom Brady. During the Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night, he was asked a question regarding his legacy in comparison to Tom Brady’s.
According to the NFL Network, he shared, “I mean, I’m not even close to halfway, so I haven’t put a lot of thought into it. I mean, your goal is to be the best player that you can be. I know I’m blessed to be around a lot of great players around me. And so, right now, it’s doing whatever I can to beat a great 49ers team and try to get that third ring. And then if you ask me that question in 15 years, and I’ll see if I can get close to seven. But seven seems like a long ways away still.”
Mahomes till now has played in three Super Bowl matches and has won two and lost one. He had lost a game in Super Bowl LV to the Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He won Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers and also Super Bowl LVII, when the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles.
As per the report, Mahomes is the youngest quarterback who has started four Super Bowl matches. He also shared that his “goal” is to play football for a long time like other legends.
He further shares via NFL Network, “That’s the goal, you want to play as long as they’ll let you play. It takes a lot of work outside of the building. It takes taking care of your body, it takes eating healthy and try to get rid of the dad bod that I got. But try to do whatever you can just to get healthy and go out there and be the best player that you can be.”
“My hope is to take it year in and year out, but I want to play as long as they’ll let me play. Fifteen years seems like long, but Brady did it and some other guys have done it so, I’m going to strive to see if I can do it as well.”
Regarding the crucial match that was missed and the Chiefs lost against the Buccaneers, Mahomes expressed, “I’ve lost the Super Bowl and I know how bad that hurts, and you want to make sure you stay away from that feeling. So, I think even more than hoisting that trophy is when you lose and you’re in that locker room and you feel like you’re that close and you didn’t get it that feeling is — I’m almost more addicted to staying away from that feeling than I am hoisting the trophy.”
