“This this a joke that I don’t know anything about” – Social media bent out of shape as NFL network claims Maurice Jones-Drew has a Superbowl ring

Even the NFL Network, in Superbowl week, makes mistakes and on Monday they erroneously claimed Maurice Jones-Drew won a Superbowl ring.

Nick Bracken, a user on X had this to say, “When the hell did Maurice Jones-Drew win a Super Bowl ring? Is this a joke that I don’t know anything about.”

It seems the joke is on the NFL Network, as Jones-Drew only spent time at the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have yet to make it to the Superbowl in 29 years and the then Oakland Raiders, who were suffering from a severe case of player quality in that period.

Who is the real Jones-Drew, well he was a kick off returner and rusher for Jacksonville after they selected him 60th in the draft.

The 5 ft 6 in player had many doubters but enjoyed a fruitful three years in the NFL at a high level.

He would become a Pro Bowler and an All Pro in that span but his form and confidence slowly evaporated, seeing him move to the Raiders.

He retired in 2015, one year after the move.

Hardly a Superbowl ring in sight.
