The week before the Super Bowl offers the media up-close access to some of the game’s biggest stars. Players, coaches, and staff share insights into all facets of the game.
San Francisco 49ers Deebo Samuel is one of the most dynamic players in the game. The fifth-year wide receiver out of South Carolina has put up big numbers since being drafted in 2019.
Samuel’s talent means he has to face off against some of the best defenders in the game week after week. In Las Vegas, Samuel was asked by NFL reporter Arye Pulli who he thought was the biggest trash talker in the game.
“Jalen Ramsey,” replied Samuel.
Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Deebo Samuel both play in the NFC West and have plenty of experience facing each other. The two rival teams have had some heated encounters over the last few seasons with the two-star players usually in the middle of the drama.

In 2022, the 49ers receiver seemed to single out Jalen Ramsey with an Instagram post after a 24-9 win where he scored a 57-yard touchdown.
“It was just me and the ball out there,” said Samuel after this game in what was possibly another dig at Ramsey.
Ramsey is considered one of the premier cornerbacks in the nation. Since joining the league in 2016 has been a shutdown cornerback that is usually tasked with containing some of the best receivers in the game. Over eight seasons in the league, he has been named to the Pro Bowl on seven occasions.
Trash talk is an art form in the NFL and with the improvements in technology, fans have had a closer look at the back-and-forth that takes place on the field. Keep an eye out for the Jalen Ramsey versus Deebo Samuel rivalry in the future.
