“We had the league security rep come in and talk” Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid Discusses Exclusive Briefing on Gambling Rules Given to Players

The Kansas City Chiefs head coach, Andy Reid, had earlier confirmed that representatives from the NFL had discussed the rules regarding pre-game gambling with the squad. The league had also made changes to the rules and regulations at the start of the season.

The league has laid down the rules involving wagering for both teams and has forbidden them from engaging in betting. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network had also shared, “#49ers and #Chiefs players are barred from any form of gambling leading up to Super Bowl LVIII here in Las Vegas, but sources say the NFL and NFLPA have agreed that restriction ends after the game. In other words, all bets are off for postgame celebrations Sunday night.”

Reid further shared that when the team’s plane landed in Las Vegas, the first business covered was getting informed about the rules enforced about gambling. The league’s spokesperson made sure that the players acknowledged the rules revolving around wagering.

According to Pro Football Talk, Reid shared, “We had the league security rep come in and talk to the guys right when we got here, I mean literally when we got here, and that was part of the conversation, was gambling. He made it very clear, restating the rules and regulations and temptations here, obviously, in Las Vegas. So that was addressed,”

The NFL players are also banned from placing wagers on any game of the league and the league has also forbidden the members of both squads to not indulge in gambling. After the Super Bowl game, the ban will be lifted.

The regulations stated by the league will have to be followed strictly, as multiple players have faced suspensions because they violated the league’s policy. The players associated with the league are under their radar as the league wants to ensure that no rules are broken and the Super Bowl LVIII gets concluded properly with the regulations that are set for it.
