Chilean golfer Cristobal Del Solar has etched his name into the history books by recording the lowest score ever in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. His remarkable 13-under-par 57 at the Astara Golf Championship on the Pacos Course at the Country Club de Bogota in Colombia has left the golfing world in awe.

Del Solar’s opening round at the Korn Ferry Tour event was nothing short of sensational. The 30-year-old showcased his skill and precision, carding two eagles and nine birdies to achieve his historic feat.

Del Solar continued his exceptional play on the back nine, securing another birdie on the 10th hole and adding another eagle to his tally on the 12th. With a score of 11-under through 12 holes, he maintained his momentum and capitalized on scoring opportunities, picking up additional shots on the 14th and 15th before concluding the round with three consecutive pars.

Reflecting on his historic achievement, Del Solar expressed his astonishment, admitting that he was unaware of his score until the final moments of the round. “I don’t even know what score I was on, 18. I had to ask my caddie, ‘Where are we at?’ – I didn’t even know,” he remarked with a smile as he walked off the final green.

The Pacos Course, known for its shorter length at just 6254 yards, coupled with its elevation of almost 9000 feet above sea level, presented unique challenges and opportunities for players. Del Solar’s exceptional performance on this demanding course further solidifies his reputation as a rising star in the world of golf.

While the PGA Tour has seen remarkable rounds in the past, including Jim Furyk’s historic 58 at the Travelers Championship in 2016, and David Carey’s remarkable 57 on the Alps Tour in 2019, Del Solar’s record-breaking 57 at the Astara Golf Championship will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most extraordinary feats in golfing history.
