ESPN reports that defensive guru Wink Martindale will sign for the Michigan Wolverines after falling out with the Giants HC Brian Daboll

According to football Insider Adam Schefter, Michigan’s new head coach Sherrone Moore will sign Wink Martindale as the defensive coordinator.

Martindale is likely to sign with the Wolverines today, with the former Baltimore Ravens DC looking to college football.

Ironically Jim Harbaugh left Michigan for the Chargers head coaching position and Martindale comes from his brother John’s team at Baltimore.

Martindale left the Ravens in 2021 and has spent the last two seasons as defensive coordinator at the New York Giants.

He resigned last month after friction with head coach Brian Daboll.

Long regarded as one of the finest minds in the game Martindale last coached college football 21 years ago at Western Kentucky under Jim and John’s dad Jack Harbaugh.

It seems like the Harbaugh effect is everywhere and we won’t be surprised if Wink lands up at the LA Chargers in the not-too-distant future.
