“You want that aggression to be there.” – Chiefs safety Justin Reid says the training sessions are getting tasty as the team can’t wait to get stuck into the 49ers

The heat is on and it’s getting toasty at the Kansas City Chiefs training sessions this week ahead of their showdown with the 49ers.

Superbowl week is not all fun and games and MVP distractions, as the training on the park intensifies to match the feverish upcoming game.

“You know guys are into it,” Chiefs safety Justin Reid said. “You want that aggression to be there. It’s a lot easier to try, and as a coach you want to be holding guys back. When you’re trying to put intensity in guys, you can’t put in something that’s not there. So, you want everyone to have that tenacity, that energy, that violence ready, and then just hold it back.”

Head coach for the 49ers Kyle Shanahan is also glad for the on-field sessions and the game is sure to be physically and mentally draining.

“I think it’s been great,” he told the pool reporter. “The first two days (of Super Bowl week) are always a challenge. Yesterday was really good, today was even better. Having these two days in a row where we can get as close to our routine as possible is great.”

Whichever way you look at it, the league’s best team is playing the league’s most consistent side over the past five years.
