The Barstool Sports brand continues to grow at an incredible rate. Following Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas, the media outlet announced an exclusive sponsorship deal with fantasy and sports betting site Draft Kings.
The news was announced by Barstool’s founder Dave Portney who posted on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in Super Bowl 58.
Portney, alongside some of his top-tier talent including Frank Fleming and Big Cat, shared a 36-second clip with his team donning Draft Kings t-shirts. In the post, the Massachusetts native announced the multiyear deal and stated that the company is going “back to our roots.”

Dave Portney founded the company back in 2003 in Massachusetts and has gradually grown it to a multi-million dollar entity.
A recent article on Investors.com reports that the deal could not be concluded until after the Super Bowl due to a previous agreement with Penn Entertainment. That was the reason for the timing of the post-Super Bowl post. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Over the last few years, several states have legalized online sports gambling leading to a massive increase in the figures. The new partnership between one of the biggest fantasy and sports betting companies and one of the biggest sports media companies seems like a win-win for both parties.
Barstool Sports continues to expand its scope and has become one of the premier sites of sports, fantasy, and pop culture.
