This was always going to be a difficult Super Bowl to predict. On one side, the San Francisco 49ers were littered with talent and entered the game as favorites according to the sportsbooks. On the other side, you had legendary Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid and two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes.
A case could be been made to pick either team on Sunday with analysts divided on which team would walk out of Las Vegas victorious.
Phil Simms was so conflicted on CBS Sports’ pregame show that he actually predicted both teams to win the encounter. The veteran broadcaster seemed to jumble his words when he was asked for a prediction leaving many viewers confused.
Here are the CBS 'NFL Today' Super Bowl predictions.

Media outlet Awful Announcing spotted the bizarre prediction and shared the video on their X account account.
“I’m going to go with the underdog,” said Simms. “Even though they are favored because everybody is picking San Francisco.”
That statement itself was puzzling as Kansas City entered the game as slight underdogs.
“I’m going to take Kansas City in a high scoring game 31-27. I’m sorry. San Francisco 31-27 over Kansas City,” added Simms
The remaining six members of the CBS crew voted 5-1 in favor of the Chiefs with only Nate Burleson picking the 49ers to edge the encounter 31-24.
Kansas City defeated San Francisco in overtime 25-22 to win their fourth ever championship and second consecutive Super Bowl. The Chiefs have appeared in four of the last five Super Bowls and won three championships over that stretch.
