The San Francisco 49ers may have lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 25-22 in a dramatic Superbowl, but one player who can hold his head up high is wide receiver Jauan Jennings.
The WR was involved in both his team’s touchdowns, throwing a trick play TD and snaffling a go-ahead catch.
He became just the second player to do that unique double following Ealges quarterback Nick Foles.
Jennings was a former high school quarterback.
“I can’t say I did think I would,” Jennings said when asked if he’d thought he’d throw a pass in the Super Bowl. “Play was called and I was just ready when my number was called.”
Jennings had a poor season but led all 49ers wide receivers in the Superbowl, with 42 yards and a touchdown.
“Disappointment,” Jennings summed up his feelings.
“Hard-fought year. A lot of teammates I know that wanted that game — I wish we could’ve got it.”
When asked how hard this loss was to absorb, he said “Anybody got a nail he can step on?
“Probably that much.”
