The NFL analyst at ESPN and the former head coach of the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, Rex Ryan, have recently been involved in an interview for the position of defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.
However, during the Super Bowl’s segment of the Sunday NFL Countdown, the famed analyst Adam Schefter gave a report stating that the Cowboys have hired Mike Zimmer as their new defensive coordinator. After that, Ryan shared his opinions, which contradicted Schefter’s report.
Cowboys have hired Mike Zimmer as their new defensive coordinator according to @AdamSchefter but…
Rex Ryan who interviewed for the Cowboys DC disputes Schefter’s report & says he doesn’t believe that’s true & that’s not a fact right now 👀…#DallasCowboys

According to Yahoo Sports, Ryan shared, "The reason I was out for seven years was I had never called another head coach. I called Mike McCarthy. The reason I did is because I want to be on this [Super Bowl] stage if I"m going to get back into coaching, to have a chance at that. I think with this roster the way it is, I think offensively and special teams and defense — I can be a little bit of an upgrade — the team could be right here [at the Super Bowl]."
"That"s why I was interested. I would only go [back to coaching] at the right situation. If it"s not completely right, I"m not going. This team, it is interesting, because they are so close to getting over that edge, and that"s why I think people would be interested in this job."
However, Schefter also noted early in his report that the Cowboys were impressed with Ryan. According to the awful announcing, he shared, "I can tell you this, they loved Rex. They were highly impressed with Rex. Rex made quite a mark on the Jones family. I’m a little surprised they didn’t hire him … but we’re quite happy they didn’t, we’re happy to have him here."
However, when the right time comes, the Cowboys squad will announce their new hiring. Nevertheless, the famed reporter has been right in stating Ryan’s prominence for the giant network, ESPN.
