Incontrovertibly settling his name in USF record books, Valdes-Scantling caught a groundbreaking 16-yard return touchdown pass.
Valdes-Scantling who retained USF’s single-season receiving yards record until dethroned by Sean Atkins this season, ended the game with a remarkable performance of three catches for 20 yards and a touchdown.
He started 13 games in the season, recording a total of 29 catches for 443 yards and two touchdowns.
The recent win, marks the 11th time in 13 Super Bowls that a USF player has been part of the participating team.
The presence of the Bulls in the Super Bowl is far from scarce with an enviable total of 15 players making 22 appearances.
