The Chiefs could decide to face the Ravens, Bengals or Texans in their home season opener, and the battle of the quarterbacks will intesinfy

With the Lombardi trophy packed, for the second year running, talk is already spreading on who the Chiefs should open their season against.

The Chiefs provided a thrilling comeback win against the 49ers to win the Superbowl in overtime, and as champions the NFL opener normally occurs at the winner’s home venue.

The quest to see who will be first up at Arrowhead Stadium is underway.

The Chiefs have eight home games in 2024, the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Denver Broncos, the Houston Texans, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Los Angeles Chargers, the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The obvious matchup will be the Baltimore Ravens, with the league MVP Lamar Jackson up against Superbowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.

The stories write themselves.

The Bengals could be a decent encounter with Cincinnati the only team to defeat Kansas City in the playoffs in five years.

Pitting Joe Burrow against Mahomes will also be newsworthy.

Another blockbuster will be a match up against the young but exciting Texans, led by CJ Stroud at quarterback.

Whichever team they’re choose will no doubt provide plenty of drama as the Chiefs look for an historic three peat.
