A new coaching staff brings hope and optimism, two things the Atlanta Falcons fanbase are desperately in need of.
Atlanta has finished with a losing record over six consecutive seasons and failed to reach the NFL playoffs since 2017. Newly appointed head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson will be hoping to add some much-needed firepower to an underperforming franchise.
A problem area for the Falcons has been the quarterback position. Journeyman Taylor Heinicke has bounced around the league since joining the NFL as an undrafted rookie in 2015. He started just four games for the Falcons last year finishing with a 1-3 record. The organization had high hopes for Desmond Ridder when they used a third-round pick to draft him. Over 19 games, he has passed for only 14 touchdowns and thrown 12 interceptions.
Per a recent article on ESPN, Zac Robinson addressed the quarterback issues facing the franchise as they prepare for 2024.
“All options are on the table,” said Robinson.

This year’s draft class offers some highly-rated quarterbacks to pick from. USC’s Caleb Williams is expected to be the first pick of the draft after winning the Heisman trophy in 2022. Drake Maye (UNC), Jayden Daniels (LSU), Bo Nix (Oregon) and Michael Penix Jr. (Washington) are all projected to be drafted in the earlier rounds. The Falcons currently hold the eighth pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
“Whether it’s a pocket guy, whether it’s a guy that can move around a little bit, we’re just looking for the best guy,” added Robinson.
The Falcons have some top players on their offense with Drake London and Kyle Pitts both on the roster. Rising star Bijon Robinson is expected to be one of the league’s top running backs next year. Any quarterback leading the Falcons offense will have a plenty of weapons to work with.
