“You can never get desensitized” Charles Barkley Shares Thoughts on Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Shooting Incident

The sports media personalities have recently spoken and have further acknowledged addressing what happened as a horrendous mass shooting took place during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII victory parade in Kansas City.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, and as per NBC, one person lost their life, twenty-two were injured, and the number also includes children. Three people have been taken into custody and out of them, two are juveniles.

After the incident, hours later, Charles Barkley and his co-host on CNN, Gayle King, discussed the inhuman act that took place in the city. He shared, “You got the greatest country in the world, any fool can go out and buy a gun anytime. They don’t do great background checks and like everything else in our country, it’s become divided between Democrats and Republicans and that makes it even worse.”

Further stating, “It should be hard to get guns. You should not be able to go to a store and get a gun in 15-20 minutes. You should not order those guns on the internet.”

“We don’t put enough pressure on our politicians. We don’t hold them accountable for anything. You can never get desensitized, but we’re used to it now. They ruined such a joyous occasion. Somebody is not going home and some people lives probably gonna be changed forever because they got shot.”

The former NBA icon and four-time Sports Emmy Award winner, Barkley, stated that he owns a weapon and also favours the right to own them; however, he stressed on the fact that they should not be easily accessible. He further states that strong clearance and security checks should be conducted in the departments where weapons are involved.
