Gallinari’s agent, Michael Tellem, engaged in discussions with various teams, including the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, and Cleveland Cavaliers, before leaning towards collaborating with the Milwaukee Bucks.
If the deal materializes, Gallinari will bring his seasoned experience to the Bucks as they strive for another deep postseason run.
Having averaged 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game this season split between the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons, Gallinari’s offensive prowess and shooting proficiency would add valuable dimensions to the Bucks’ roster.
The move, however, is yet to be officially confirmed by the team.
Currently standing at 35-20, Milwaukee holds the third position in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Coach Doc Rivers expressed optimism about the potential signing, emphasizing the significance of Gallinari’s shooting ability, size, and veteran leadership on the court.
“Any time you get shooting and size, it matters. And veteran leadership. Just a guy that knows how to play the game. Great passer, you know, someone like that,” commented Rivers, highlighting the potential impact of Gallinari’s skill set.
While Gallinari may not directly address the Bucks’s need for a defensive wing player, his 38.2 percent career 3-point shooting could complement the team’s offensive strategies.
Standing at 6-foot-10 and weighing 233 pounds, Gallinari’s versatility allows him to play alongside Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in small-ball lineups without sacrificing size.
As negotiations reach their final stages, fans await official confirmation from the Milwaukee Bucks organization regarding this impending free-agent acquisition.
