On Wednesday, Isaiah Stewart was reported to have punched Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks in the face during a parking lot altercation.

The Detroit Pistons and the Phoenix Suns face off on Wednesday night in Phoenix, which ended in the Suns defeating the Pistons, 116-100.
As per the local police, Stewart has been arrested for assault, charged with a citation, and released by Phoenix police, though the investigation into the incident remains active.
NBA Insider Shams Charania reported the NBA has officially launched the investigation into Stewart punching Eubanks. As shared by Charania on X,
“I’m told Drew Eubanks was punched in the mouth area and from what I’m told, the footage will show, Drew Eubanks barely flinched. He stood there stone-cold, took the punch obviously and police/security got involved, and separated them. Police had Isaiah Stewart escorted out of the arena, and then he was arrested given his citation, and released after that. So this is really in the hands of local law enforcement. Their investigation which is active as well as the league’s investigation that’s going to take place over the coming days and weeks.”
To shed light on the matter, the Phoenix Police Department has shared,
“Around 4:45 PM, Phoenix police officers were working in a security capacity during a Suns home game at Footprint Arena when they were called to a fight between two players inside the arena’s parking lot When the officers arrived, they were directed by security to the players involved. The players were identified as 27-year-old Drew Eubanks and 22-year-old Isaiah Stewart. Detectives responded to investigate the incident and collect evidence. Stewart was arrested for assault, issued a citation and released. The investigation remains active.”
