Kendrick Perkins hints at Lakers landing another superstar this summer

ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins has stirred up speculation about the Los Angeles Lakers potentially adding another superstar to their roster during the upcoming offseason.

Despite currently sitting at the 9th position in the Western Conference and struggling to establish themselves as championship contenders this season, Perkins claims that help is on the way.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show" on Thursday, Perkins dropped the bombshell, stating, “The Lakers need to stand pat, get through this season, have a run because another superstar’s on the way this summer."

While Perkins did not disclose the identity of the rumored superstar, speculation has already begun among fans and analysts.

One name at the forefront is Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks. Young, an offensive powerhouse, has been the subject of trade rumors, and the Lakers have expressed interest in acquiring him.

Trae Young is currently averaging 26.7 points, 10.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, making him a coveted asset for teams seeking a scoring boost.

The Lakers, armed with assets like D"Angelo Russell and multiple draft picks, could potentially be contenders in securing Young"s services during the offseason.

The Lakers were expected to make significant moves before the trade deadline this season, but the day passed without any major changes, intensifying concerns among fans about the team"s ability to strengthen its roster.

Whether the Lakers indeed land a superstar and who that player might be remains uncertain, leaving fans eagerly awaiting further developments in the months ahead.
