Exciting Victories and Historic Feats: NBA All-Star 2024 Showcases Stellar Performances in Three-Point and Dunk Contests

The 2024 NBA Slam Dunk and Three-Point Contests were recently concluded and the on-court actions by the superstars garnered divided attention from the community.

The Milwaukee Bucks star, Damian Lillard emerged victorious in the three-point contest, whereas the Golden State Warriors superstar and NBA icon, Stephen Curry defeated New York Liberty superstar, Sabrina Ionescu to win the NBA vs. WNBA three-point contest.

The spectacular night of basketball also included an incredible Slam Dunk competition, which was won by Mac McClung, who also won the contest last year. He successfully defeated Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

Skip Bayless also shared his thoughts on McClung and said in his post, “Little McClung’s HEAD was above the rim on that Shaq dunk. Never seen anything quite like it … and I was there the day Spud beat Dominique fair and square in Dallas.”

Regarding the contest between Curry and Ionescu, Robert Griffin III shared, “Sabrina Ionescu put on for the @WNBA

Shot from the NBA 3 point line and scored just as many as the NBA winner. Steph Curry is just on a different level than the rest of the Galaxy.”

The Three-Point contest was closely fought between Lauri Markkanen, Tyrese Haliburton, Malik Beasley, Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard, Karl-Anthony Towns, Trae Young, and Jalen Brunson. According to Fadeaway World, both Towns and Young scored 24 points in the last round.

The eight-time NBA All-Star, Damian Lillard, was the last one to go in the competition and showed his prominent skills with ease. He missed four shots but concluded his turn with a 26-point finish that won him the contest.

Lillard, with a win, became the seventh player to win the competition consecutively. He joins the ranks of Jeff Hornacek, Peja Stojakovic, Jason Kapono, Larry Bird, Craig Hodges, and Mark Price.

The match between Ionescu and Curry grabbed incredible attention as the WNBA player chose to shoot from the NBA line rather than the WNBA line. She finished with 26 points, whereas Curry finished with 29 points, ultimately winning the contest.

The dunk contest was won by McClung, who became the fifth player in NBA history to win the competition back-to-back. He now joins the league of Michael Jordan, Jason Richardson, Nate Robinson, and Zach LaVine.
