I am beginning to think this game is irredeemable.” – respected sports journalist David Alridge bemoans poor NBA All-Star outing as 397 points scored

Highly respected basketball journalist David Aldridge joined the chorus of naysayers who called this weekend’s NBA All-Star game a bust.

Sportswriter Bob Ryan called the game a farce as the Eastern Conference beat the Western Conference 211-186.

“That was dreadful,” said Aldridge.

“Again. I am beginning to think this game is irredeemable.

“I am not sure why even minimal defense effort is beyond this generation of All-Stars. But it may be time to end this game if they can’t give more of a damn than that.”

The game saw 397 points and comes amidst a recent clamour about high scoring in the NBA and how defensive play is being ignored for all-out attack.
