On Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs Tight End, Travis Kelce snagged the ‘Athlete of the Year" title at the People"s Choice Awards on Sunday, despite slamming the nominations as “f***ing nonsense" on his podcast “New Heights" back in January.
Kelce didn"t attend the award show held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Instead, the Kansas City Chiefs" tight end has been hanging out in Missouri, relishing the aftermath of his team"s Super Bowl LVIII victory.
Travis Kelce found himself nominated alongside notable sports figures like Coco Gauff, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Lionel Messi, Sabrina Ionescu, Simone Biles, and Stephen Curry.

During his podcast rant in January, he sarcastically questioned his inclusion on the list, citing his appearance on ‘SNL" as a dubious qualification.
"F–king nonsense," What did I do to get Athlete of the Year? I did ‘SNL,’" Kelce quipped at the time. "How am I on this [list]?"
Meanwhile, Travis Kelce"s girlfriend, Taylor Swift also basked in glory at the People"s Choice Awards, clinching four trophies for Female Artist, Pop Artist, Concert Tour, and Social Celebrity. Swift recently wrapped up her Eras Tour at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from February 16 to 18, 2024.

Shifting focus to Kelce"s on-field performance, the star tight end had an outstanding regular season, amassing 93 receptions for 984 yards and scoring 5 touchdowns over 17 games. He contributed significantly against the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills.
In the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers, Kelce secured 9 receptions for 93 yards, although he couldn"t find the end zone. The game marked his third Super Bowl win as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the 49ers with a 25-22 overtime victory on February 11, 2024.
