Charlotte Cardin wowed everyone with her rendition of ‘O Canada’ at the 2024 NBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis on February 18, 2024.

Charlotte Cardin hails from Montreal, Quebec, and she’s known for her versatile music style that blends pop, electro, and jazz. Back in 2013, she made a mark as a Top 4 finalist on the first season of the TVA singing competition La Voix. Later that year, she collaborated with Garou on the single “Du vent, des mots” from his album Au milieu de ma vie.

Her solo journey kicked off with the release of her debut EP, “Big Boy,” in 2016. This EP showcased her musical prowess with songs in both English and French. She even had rapper Nate Husser featured on the track “Like It Doesn’t Hurt.” Charlotte’s talent didn’t go unnoticed, earning her a spot as a SOCAN Songwriting Prize finalist for the French song “Les échardes.”

In 2017, she dropped her second EP, “Main Girl,” and the title track reached No. 1 on the Radio 2 Top 20 chart. Charlotte continued to make waves, earning Juno Award nominations and SOCAN Songwriting Prize nods for her contributions to the music scene.

Her full-length debut album, “Phoenix,” released in 2021, further solidified her position in the music industry. The album, co-written with her manager Jason Brando, received critical acclaim and won the Felix Award for Anglophone Album of the Year at the 43rd Félix Awards.

The NBA All-Star Game in 2024, where Charlotte Cardin’s soulful performance of ‘O Canada’ added a special touch to the event. The game itself was the 73rd edition, hosted by the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Notably, it brought back the Eastern Conference versus Western Conference format, resulting in the Eastern Conference’s victory with a score of 211–186. It was a record-breaking game with the most points ever scored by a team and both teams combined, along with 67 three-point field goals made.
