Fresh off their World Series journey, Diamondbacks owner Ken Kendrick has sparked debate with his recent remarks about the team’s potential move.

Kendrick’s comments came amid struggles to secure a new stadium deal before the current agreement with Chase Field expires in 2027. He mentioned the interest from various cities eager to host an MLB team, hinting at the possibility of relocation:

“There are opportunities available… It’s not where we are spending time or energy. We may run out of time in Phoenix. We hope that won’t happen.”

Some saw this as a tactic to push Phoenix into a deal, while others voiced frustration online. Notably, Kendrick has overseen significant spending this offseason, resulting in the team’s highest-ever salary cap.

Major signings like Eugenio Suarez, Eduardo Rodriguez, and retaining Lourdes Gurriel Jr. bode well for the Diamondbacks’ future after their 2023 success.

Furthermore, Kendrick has pledged to improve Chase Field, as seen with recent upgrades like new speakers and LED lights in centerfield. He reassured fans by stating, “We aren’t having those conversations” about relocation.
