“I definitely feel like there might be another move on the way” Aaron Judge Teases New Signing as Yankees Go Big in Offseason in Search of First WS Since 2009

“The time is now” was the message from general manager Brian Cashman’s to the New York Yankees fans. The addition of All-Star outfielder Juan Soto and pitcher Marcus Stroman adds star power to an already talented lineup but is it enough for the Yankees to compete for a World Series in 2024?

Cashman has been busy finding ways to compliment former MVP Aaron Judge and AL Cy Young winner Gerrit Cole with the pieces they need to compete during the offseason. Along with Soto and Stroman, the club also added Alex Verdugo and Trent Grisham to add depth to the lineup.

There are still some big-name free agents on the market the Yankees could be circling. During a recent interview team captain Aaron Judge was asked about adding another piece to the roster.

“I hope so.” said Judge. “I definitely feel like there might be another move on the way, but you never know. We’ll see.”

The Yankees reportedly made an offer to sign two-time Cy Young winning pitcher Blake Snell per Mark Feinsand of MLB Network. With Opening Day just 36 days away, the 31-year-old lefty is yet to sign a contract.

Jordan Montgomery, who spent six seasons with the Yankees (2017-2022), is another tempting option for the Bronx side. The 31-year-old is a free agent after  coming off a stellar season that saw him win the World Series with the Texas Rangers.

The Yankees have failed to win a World Series in 15 years adding pressure on Brian Cashman and the coaching staff. The addition of a premier pitcher could be difference between another early round playoff exit, or a World Series championship.
