Throughout his career, Crawford played for nine different NBA teams, and he acknowledged his role in making the reserve position more prominent within the game.
He emphasized the importance of bringing style and success to the bench, as it was traditionally frowned upon in the basketball community.

When asked about being considered the greatest of all time, Crawford humbly stated that he sees himself as being in the conversation.
After starting as a regular player for two seasons, Crawford was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, where he fully embraced the sixth man role.
He was awarded the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year title for the 2009-10 season and went on to win the award two more times during his career, tying with Lou Williams for the most wins in NBA history.
Both Williams and Crawford have been backed for Hall of Fame induction. The award, named after Boston Celtics legend John Havlicek, has been given since the 1982-83 season and has been won multiple times by only four other players.
Crawford played for a total of 20 seasons in the NBA, starting in 2000-01 with the Chicago Bulls and ending in 2019-20 with a single game for the Brooklyn Nets.
He made significant contributions off the bench, playing in 894 of his 1,327 regular season games as a reserve.
Throughout his career, he averaged 14.6 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game. Although he never made it to the NBA Finals or conference finals, Crawford’s impact on the perception and role of a sixth man cannot be underestimated.
He has rightly earned his place among the best players in that role and has the accolades to support his claim.
Fans had this to convey.
If Manu didn't have 5 rings, Crawford would clear everyone

Forget 6th man, one of the best players period. Call him a role player. Bench or starter

Manu Ginobili?
Robert Horry?
No one else comes before these two men on the all time 6th man list.— Quillion (@QuillionWatts) February 20, 2024
In the convo? There’s no convo. He’s it! Without question. Award should be named after him!
