Russell Wilson has experienced a decline in performance since joining the Denver Broncos in 2022.
He was traded to the Broncos after playing for the Seattle Seahawks throughout his career.
However, it seems that Wilson’s time with the Broncos is coming to an end.
The team is expected to release him, resulting in a significant amount of dead cap money.
The odds now favor Wilson joining the Pittsburgh Steelers, with a 71.4% probability, according to DraftKings.
Reports suggest that there is internal disagreement within the Steelers on the best choice for their quarterback position, leading them to consider outside options like Wilson.
Despite his struggles with the Broncos, Wilson would still be an upgrade for many teams, including the Patriots, Vikings, Raiders, and Falcons, who are also interested in pursuing him.
The Steelers, Raiders, and Falcons are the frontrunners, with the Broncos still having a chance if they can negotiate a restructured contract.
However, Wilson’s recent actions, such as listing his Denver house for sale and conflicts with the head coach, indicate that staying with the Broncos is unlikely.
Oh wow: Chad Johnson says on @NightcapShow_ that #Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson will join the #Steelers this season.
“A little birdie told me, and I said this many shows ago, Russell Wilson’s coming on over to the Steelers.”

Other teams, such as the Commanders, Titans, Giants, Panthers, and Buccaneers, are considered longshots. A reunion with the Seahawks is now unlikely since they have chosen to retain Geno Smith.

I don’t hate this for the Steelers. Obviously not a permanent solution, but not a terrible move
— Eli (@TheLoveOfJoy) February 20, 2024
It might make sense if the #Steelers are bringing him in to mentor and push Kenny Pickett.

You mean the team the Broncos have a home game against next season ?👀👀

Even if he's a shell of his former self, I think this can really change the Steelers franchise trajectory.
Making big moves helps to snowball things.

Wilson needs to go where he doesn’t need to compete for QB 1. Steelers sounds pretty believable.

They need to get rid of all these 2nd, 3rd string qbs. Not sign a has been. Suck it up trade up and get a real qb.

I like this. For some reason. Maybe because I think Pickket is not the man.

If this is true, the Bears are running out of suitors for Justin Fields
— Alvin Yakitori (@alltimebooler) February 20, 2024
Can confirm he’ll sign with the Steelers and serve as Justin Fields’ backup.

Yes, a run down QB on the backside of his career is what the Steelers need. Said no one ever

CJ Stroud was asked if the #Bears should keep Justin Fields for next season… listen to his answer:
“They should if they’re smart but you know…”
