Kyle Pitts was regarded as one of college football’s top prospects but it is safe to say his talent has not converted to yards and touchdowns in the NFL. The Atlanta Falcons tight end was the fourth overall draft pick in the 2021 class but is yet to establish himself as one of the NFL’s premier receivers.
Over three seasons in Georgia, Pitts has recorded just six touchdowns and 2049 receiving yards. After a standout rookie season, the tight end’s numbers dropped off significantly with him averaging just 511.5 receiving yards per season in 2022 and 2023.
A newly-appointed coaching staff in Atlanta could be just the fresh start Kyle Pitts is looking for. Head coach Raheem Morris, offensive coordinator Zac Robinson and tight ends coach Kevin Koger will be trusted to rebuild an offense that has struggled over the past few seasons.
“There are a lot of things that you can do to be creative and use his skill set in the pass game,” said Koger per Pro Football Talk. “You’ll see him all over the field, not just out wide but also in the box.”

Koger touched on Pitts versatility and plans to utilize the 23-year-old as a blocker and a receiver in the upcoming season.
At 6’6″ and nearly 250 pounds, the fourth year player will need to play a bigger role if the Falcons are going to improve on their 7-10 2023 record.
The quarterback position is another area that has to be addressed with second-year Desmond Ridder yet to find his footing in the pros and Taylor Heinicke set to turn 31 next month. Offensive coordinator stated earlier this year that “all options are on the table” when it comes to the quarterback position. With a deep draft class that included Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye, Pitts may find himself in a whole new system built for his skillset.
