Justin Fields decision to unfollow the Chicago Bears’ Instagram account earlier this week led to flurry of rumors and speculation regarding the quarterbacks future.

Fields has started 38 games for Chicago over the previous three seasons recording 54 total touchdowns and 6674 passing yards. After an impressive 2023 season, the former Ohio State quarterback firmly established himself as one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the NFL.

On Wednesday, the 24-year-old clarified any rumors that arouse after his perplexing decision to unfollow the Bears.

“Why do people take social media so serious? Like I still mess with the Bears…I’m just trying to take a little break. I unfollowed the Bears and the NFL,” said Fields

Justin Fields was speaking on an episode of The 33rd Team podcast where he cleared up any misunderstandings. The quarterback is looking to take a break from football as he prepares for a vacation, which seems to be the main reason he is stepping away from certain social media accounts.

He insisted that he is still a Bears player and hopes to return to the organization but conceded that the NFL is a “business.”

The young quarterback provided a strange example when trying to justify this actions.

“Just because you don’t follow that girl on IG, don’t mean you not messing with her,” said Fields.

The Bears hold the first pick in the NFL draft has face a difficult decision. USC’s Caleb Williams is considered one of the best college prospects in years and offers a similar skillset to Fields. GM Ryan Poles is under pressure from certain sections of the fanbase to trade Fields and build around the dynamic Williams.
