Former Los Angeles Lakers player and current Milwaukee Bucks guard, Patrick Beverley, recently discussed the demanding nature of Lakers fans on his podcast.
He admitted that he underestimated the intensity of the fan base and confessed that he would have avoided Twitter during his time with the Lakers.
“Lakers fanbase a MF… they want you to score 30 every night” 😭

Beverley highlighted the high expectations set by Lakers fans, stating that they expect players to score 30 points every night and show no mercy when a player falls short.
He pointed out that even former Lakers guard Russell Westbrook faced criticism from the fan base.
The three-time All-Defensive selection then went on to elaborate about how tough the fan base really is.
“I ain’t gon’ lie,”
Beverley said.
“Lakers fan base a motherf—–. They want you to score 30 every night. And the day you score 27, ‘Trade him. He’s a bum.’ Yeah, Lakers fan base tough.”
Beverley acknowledged that the Lakers’ rich history of winning contributes to the fans’ tough mindset.
Despite only playing 45 games for the Lakers, Beverley experienced the pressure firsthand, especially during a difficult start to the 2022-23 season.
Although the team eventually turned things around and made it to the Western Conference Finals, they were defeated by the Denver Nuggets.
This season, Beverley was traded to the Bucks from the Philadelphia 76ers and aims to bring his defensive prowess to help the team contend for the championship in the 2023-24 season.
During his time with the Lakers, Beverley averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game and shot 34.8 percent from beyond the arc.
As he is currently on a one-year contract, there is a possibility of a future return to Los Angeles as a free agent.
In this case, Beverley will be better prepared for the demands of Lakers fans.
Fans reacted as follows:
Nobody in the history of the Lakers said “Pat we need 30” 🤣

Or, ya know, been a competent basketball player. In his defense though it didn’t help that Ham was playing him at SF.

Laker fans get upset at players that don’t do what they were signed for. Pat was 3 and D. We got no threes and barely any D.

We wanted you to play good not score 30 points 😂😂

He didn’t mean literally scoring 30 every night, it’s just trying to explain how demanding the fan base are. If you don’t understand the message he’s trying to send across then……..

Shiiiit, we would’ve taken at least 10-13 points a game while playing stellar defense. Spoiler alert: 🚨 The Lakers fan base received neither. lol

The Lakers fanbase is like a needy girlfriend, always demanding perfection.

Nah we just can’t stand when dudes regress in LA cause that light is bright, there’s a 100 banners and a dozen retired jerseys 😂 like as fans, we just want y’all to hoop, and you come to LA and turn into a random Provo, Utah 24 hour fitness client 😂
— Lennon (@misterpac_) February 21, 2024
I promise you, not one Lakers fan ever expected more than 5 points out of you Pat Bev lol
— hunter (@AyeeeBoogie) February 21, 2024
Pat Bev is on his 3rd team since “not scoring 30 pts a night” w/ Lakers. And every time he gets in front of microphone, its all Lakers talk. That says everything about how small he is & how huge the Lakers brand is. #LakeShow #lakersentitlement
— Shaun Breski (@ShaunBeezee) February 21, 2024
Laker fans are unreasonable at times sure. But we don’t expect players to score 30 we just expect people to play hard. There’s a reason we hyped Alex Caruso so highly.

Pat don't realise he's a role player… He actually thinks he is some sort of cornerstone lol… Bro they got you to annoy the other team… That's it… Anything positive you do in the box score is just a bonus.
