The battle to get the salary cap under control at the Saints has seen Erik McCoy’s contract channels to a performance bonus.
The structure for the converted centre will see New Orleans save $7.18 million on the salary cap.
The Saints are walking a tight line and are still $75 million over the salary cap limiting their free agent negotiations.
McCoy was the 48th overall pick by New Orleans in 2019, and represented Texas A&M.
