Surprise filled the air as the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced its bold decision.
A suspension was upon Jimmy Butler, the star player of Miami Heat. This came after the NBA concluded that he played a crucial part in inciting a fight during the game with the New Orleans Pelicans.
"[Jimmy Butler] was the one that the league said, along with Naji Marshall, instigated, initiated the fight…Jimmy Butler to me, there was a lot of defense being played by him. And he was really just going to bat at the end, and then he's the one that had his neck grabbed by… pic.twitter.com/M4rikeI3Ej

Not just Butler, but four other players also faced suspension for their active involvements in the last quarter brawl.
Naji Marshall, a forward at the Pelicans, received the same one-game suspension as Butler.
The suspensions weren"t just about Butler and Marshall. Miami"s Thomas Bryant and New Orleans" Jose Alvarado missed out on three games due to their engagement in the fight.
Surprisingly, Nikola Jovic from Heat had to sit out for a game for simply leaving the bench area.

The disturbance stemmed from a play where Pelican’s Zion Williamson stole the ball from Butler.
This led to a tangle with Miami’s Kevin Love, ending with Williamson hitting the ground. Not everyone agreed on the authentic nature of the fight.
Erik Spoelstra, the Miami Heat coach, has voiced his disapproval of the league"s decision, contending that the ejections themselves were significant enough punishment.
"It felt like Jimmy shouldn’t have gotten a game on that," the coach said. "It was really just kind of tangling and a little bit of pushing. I don’t think that deserves another game because he ended up having to miss the fourth quarter (Friday). But it is what it is. Nobody wants to see it escalate to that point."
Contrarily, former NBA player Brandon Jennings expressed skepticism about the alleged fight, describing it as staged on social media platforms.
Consequently, public opinion divided, with some siding with Jennings and others condemning his statement.
The players served their suspensions on specific dates, impacting their teams and their bank balances in a significant way.
Butler was @hard-hit, losing almost $260,000 over the suspension. However, the economic impacts weren"t limited to him.
Bryant lost upwards of $52,000 and Jovic suffered a financial loss exceeding $12,500.
