The Cardinals have released a half cryptic social media post stating that quarterback Kyler Murray will be the team’s franchise player for 2024.
It is not a left field move considering his quality but the timing of the post could leave an impression of potential sideway trading.
Five years ago the Cardinals named QB Josh Rosen as their franchise player only to dump him after the draft.
With Arizona having the fourth overall pick and some quality quarterbacks up for grabs it could be a case of history repeating itself, opening the way to potential trade talks and future draft picks going forward.
It seems almost too obvious that the Cardinals will try the trick as salary caps come into the picture. But stranger things have happened in the Arizona desert.
