In a fiery social media post on X, on Monday, Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James vented out his frustration over the relentless media scrutiny surrounding his son, Bronny James. The discontent came on the heels of ESPN’s decision to exclude the USC Trojans player from their 2024 NBA Mock Draft. Now, the projections are pointing toward the 2025 draft.

LeBron James set the record straight and wrote:

“Can y’all please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball,” pleaded the Lakers star in a now-deleted X post, as reported by USA Today. “The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”

He added:

“And to all the other kids out there striving to be great just keep your head down, blinders on and keep grinding,” LeBron urged. “These Mock Drafts don’t matter one bit! I promise you! Only the WORK MATTERS!! Let’s talk REAL BASKETBALL PEOPLE!”

King James got furious after NBA Central reposted it. FYI, the tweet has been deleted by the NBA legend after it went viral.

ESPN NBA Draft Analyst Chimes In About Bronny James

According to ESPN NBA Draft analyst Jonathan Givony, Bronny James confronted major challenges when he faced a four-month absence due to a heart issue that arose during a workout session at USC in July 2023.

“He’s one of the best defenders in the freshman class,” Givony lauded, adding that if Bronny decides to return for his sophomore season, fans can expect a transformed player with the potential to be a lottery pick.

Bronny’s health scare, attributed to an “anatomically and functionally significant congenital heart defect,” led to corrective surgery and an initial absence from the current college basketball season.

Despite the setbacks, Bronny has displayed resilience, averaging 5.5 points on 37.1% shooting, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 19 games, with an average playing time of 20.2 minutes per game.
