Bears wide receiver DJ Moore has praised incumbent quarterback Justin Fields and does not think a rookie will slot in easily.
Chicago has the luxury of the number one overall pick in the 2024 draft, as well as the 9th spot, and a move for a quarterback like Caleb Williams has long been mooted.
“I still don’t think they compare to Justin right now,” Moore told NFL Total Access.
Moore is understandably comfortable with Fields enjoying a terrific season with all team best numbers of 96 catches, 1,364 and eight touchdowns.
“The relationship jelled really well from the beginning,” Moore said.
“Since I got traded, he was in contact, and we started throwing together, so it made the transition into games and everything easy.”
Moore, during his time at the Panthers had to learn to click with a host of quarterbacks including Cam Newton, Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold and of course Mayfield.
The Bears hold their own destiny in their hands and on draft day will show their hand on the 2024 line caller slot.
