It seems like every player, analyst and fan has an opinion on the Justin Fields versus Caleb Williams debate. Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles face an interesting dilemma when it comes to the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. While many in the fanbase hope the organization trades the pick to stick with dual-threat quarterback Fields, others believe that Williams is a generational talent and could be the man to lead the franchise forward for years to come.
According to former NFL quarterback and radio host Boomer Esiason, there is only one right answer here.
‘It’s over. They’re taking this kid right here and if they don’t take this kid then Ryan Poles should be fired,” said Esiason.
Boomer Esiason is all-in on the Bears drafting Caleb Williams over keeping Justin Fields.

University of Southern California’s Caleb Williams won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 and followed that up with another exceptional year in 2023. He enters the draft as one of the best prospect in years after finishing his college career with over 10,000 yard and 93 touchdowns.
After trading the first overall pick to Carolina Panthers last year, the Bears hold a handful of draft picks, including the ninth overall pick in this years draft. The organization also ranks in the top five in league when it comes to available cap space. The Bears could be the perfect landing spot for a rookie quarterback looking to get off to a strong start.
“Go to Chicago. They are loaded and they’re going to be good. You’re going to have a good defense. They’ve added a number of offensive playmakers over the last two years,” was Esiason’s message to Williams.
