Five-time NBA All-Star, Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers has recently shared that he is hoping that the Cavaliers retire the jersey number of former prominent player of the Cavaliers squad Kyrie Irving. He was one of the fundamental members who led Cleveland to the NBA championship.
Mitchell, who is another talented prospect of the squad shared as per the Fadeaway World, "He should have his jersey retired for sure. Being able to do what he did at the highest level, year after year, to go from not winning to being able to do that and have that impact I think is something that was truly remarkable."
"Obviously, what he has done in the playoffs in his career and in Cleveland, where he brought the city a championship, I feel like him, K-Love [Kevin Love], and Bron [LeBron James] should all have their jerseys retired. I think he should definitely have it retired… Only championship in team history, and he was a huge part of that. I think that’s something that should never go overlooked."
The Cavaliers have recently defeated the Dallas Mavericks who are standing eighth in the Western Conference and for the season they are 33-25. The Cavaliers squad conquered the matchup with a concluding score of 121-119. Mitchell"s squad is impressively occupying the second spot in the Eastern Conference and are 38-19 for the season.

The eight-time NBA All-Star Irving posted 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists and Mitchell posted a team-high score of 31 points, including seven rebounds, and six assists. Irving was joyful when he heard what Mitchell had shared about him and he said, "It would be very meaningful. I haven"t given it much thought. I"m not oblivious to the questions you guys have for Donovan. … I don"t want him to be answering those questions because he"s new here, and he"s just trying to establish his legacy, and I give him a lot of credit."
The trio of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, and James LeBron was fundamental when the Cavaliers won the NBA championship. All three players engaged in their crucial roles through which the squad reached such a prominent level. The Cavaliers suffered a 2015 NBA Final loss as Love and Irving were both injured.
Irving also shared his heartfelt message to the Cleveland organization and how grateful he feels, he expressed with a deep sense of appreciation, "Every time I come into this building, I look up at that banner, and it just brings me back to all those emotions. And I"m just grateful for my time here, and I really want to get that across to the Cavs fans, Cavs organization."
