“Lay his whole outfit all over the floor before the game” Former NBA player Mario Chalmers Opens Up on LeBron James’ Strange Pregame Routine

Some of the greatest athletes are highly superstitious individuals but LeBron James’ pregame routine may be taking it a bit too far.

During a recent podcast from Playmaker, James’ former teammate Mario Chalmers opened up on James’ unorthodox pregame ritual. Before every game, the four-time NBA champion went through a process that may seem strange to the rest of us.

“That man would lay his whole outfit all over the floor before the game and make sure everybody walks around it,” said Chalmers. “One time the media walked he snapped, and he made the equipment man get him a whole new jersey, shorts, tights, headband, armband, and socks and laid it right back out.”

LeBron James and Mario Chalmers played together on the Miami Heat between 2010 to 2014 where they had tremendous success. Chalmers was part of the Heat teams that included Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh and went on to win back-to-back NBA championships in 2012 and 2013.

James pregame conduct may be a little eccentric but its hard to argue with the results. Last year, “King James” surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the player with the player with the most points in NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been named to the NBA All-Star Game an incredible 20-times and has been named the league MVP one four different occasions over 21 seasons.

Fans of LeBron James may want to follow Chalmers on social media and keep an eye out for his content. The former NBA guard continues to provide fascinating insight on one of basketball’s most popular talents.
