The NFL rules committee is discussing kick off returns and hip drop tackles but nothing has been brought up regarding fumbles in the N-Zone.
The fumbles topic was highlighted when Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman fumbled against the Bills in the divisional round.
Vice president for the NFL Operations Troy Vincent was firm in the league’s stance on penalizing the attacking team by restarting play on the defense 20-yard line.
“If he just simply puts the ball in the right hand, like we’re all taught in elementary school when you first start learning football, it doesn’t happen,” Vincent said. “End of discussion, move on.”
The topic was briefly brought up but swiftly dealt with the fumble change will decently not take place.
