NBA Legend Robert Horry Recounts Wild Championship Celebration – “I wake up in some girl’s apartment”

The former seven-time NBA championship winner, Robert Horry has recently revealed his most extravagant title celebration in one of the episodes of “Games With Names” podcast with Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman. His championship parade story was untamed as he was “hammered” just before the celebrations started.

According to Fadeaway World, he shared, “I would have to say Houston and the only reason I’m gonna say Houston is because we went back-to-back. I ain’t gonna lie, I got so hammered that night after that game. You think about it: we swept the Orlando Magic, we went back-to-back, a sixth seed. I’m hammered, I wake up in some girl’s apartment. It was my buddy’s girlfriend.”

Further continuing, “I wake up in an apartment. I’m like on the floor under a tree, I think. I’m literally outside. I look at my watch, it was 11 o’clock. The parade starts at 11 o’clock, so literally if people look at the parade, the second parade, it was held up because I didn’t make it there on time… I had to go home, shower, and explain to my fiance what happened, and she looking at me cross-eyed.”

Horry was selected in the 1992 NBA Draft in the first round as the 11th overall pick. The power forward was picked by the Houston Rockets with whom he played from 1992 to 1996. He then joined the Phoenix Suns and played with them for a year.

In 1997 he joined the Los Angeles Lakers and he was with them till 2003. His last club was San Antonio Spurs with whom he played from 2003 to 2008. The second title with the Rockets was special for Horry and they won despite having a dismal regular season.

The Rockets were led by Hakeem Olajuwon and after defeating the top three clubs of the Western conference the club reached the halls of NBA finals. The Rockets then went on to defeat Shaquille O’Neal who led the Orlando Magic squad.

The 1995 NBA finals grabbed incredible attention as two icons were playing against each other, Shaquille O’Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon and the latter won the MVP Award. Horry made his mark impressively as well and posted 17.8 points, 10 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 3.0 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game as per Fadeaway World.

During the last seconds of the highly-anticipated match it was Horry who scored with his three-point shot and subsequently ended the hopes of Orlando Magic in the matchup.
