His agent, Andy Simms, denied all claims that his client leaked the team"s game plan on multiple occasions before he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 18.
Simms commented in response to an email from PFT,
"It’s a laughable and ridiculous allegation."
Hardman had signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets in the 2023 off season, as a free agent, but he sustained a significant Achilles injury in the Jets" Week 1 game.
His injury ended his first season with the organization and following the Jets traded him back to the Chiefs, Hardman recorded just one catch for six yards in his five appearances with the Jets.
In an interview with ESPN analyst Ryan Clark on The Pivot podcast, Hardman also shared, talked to members of the Chiefs organization about trading for him while he was still on New York"s roster.
"I"m telling you right now, I was so checked out, like, it was over with. I had already talked to [Chiefs general manager Brett] Veach and Pat [Mahomes], like, come get me."
As per ESPN"s Rich Cimini, although his agent has denied claims of leaking game plans, Jets general manager Joe Douglas told reporters on Wednesday that his comments "definitely resonated" with the team.
The claim Hardman leaked the games was from a report by Connor Hughes of SNY.tv claiming that the Jets have a "validated belief" that he provided the information in advance of contests against both teams.
