Chris Russo is enjoying a media resurgence, and the madcap sports anchor is loving the vibe.
He appeared with Suzy Schuster in the Rich Eisen Show and when asked about the dynamics between himself, Mike Francesca and Stephen A Smith he admitted, “That’s a good question, wow. That’s a very good question.
“I think Mike is a little more reserved. And I think you have to prove to Mike that you’re on Mike’s level from a sports perspective. Stephen A. takes you for what you are. He understands the embellishment of it. Mike can be a little cynical about somebody who yells a lot; Stephen A. kind of loves that.”
Mad Dog Russo is a vocal, combustible but thoroughly entertaining guest and he feels that Smith understands his enthusiasm.
“Stephen A., you’ve got to match his enthusiasm and his delivery, which is a different situation. So, they’re two different little skill sets. You can have a lot more thoughtful conversations with Mike and a lot more enthusiastic conversations sometimes with Stevie A.”
The trio are fun to watch, and serve up top quality content, with contrasting personalities drawing viewers in.
