Blue Jays Daniel Vogelbach crushes home run off Yankees’ Gerrit Cole

In a spectacular return to the Toronto Blue Jays, designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach made an immediate impact in his first spring training at-bat, crushing a two-run home run off the reigning American League Cy Young winner, Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees.

The powerful display occurred in the first inning of a Grapefruit League game, as Vogelbach launched a 370-foot bomb over the right-field wall.

With the count at 2-1, Vogelbach’s home run not only marked an impressive return but also scored Davis Schneider, providing the Blue Jays with an early lead.

This notable achievement came as Cole made his first appearance in a game this season, setting an exciting tone for the upcoming matchups between these AL East rivals.

The Blue Jays recently signed Vogelbach to a minor-league deal with an invitation to the major-league camp just two weeks ago.

The 31-year-old designated hitter played 104 games with the New York Mets in 2023, boasting a .233 batting average with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs.
