streaming platform, Amazon Prime declared that it would broadcast 21 New York Yankees games in 2024.
Of these, 19 mid-week (Wednesday) night games will be available at no extra charge for Amazon Prime subscribers.
The Yankess will continue to have some of the most complicated, fractured TV rights in all of sports this season. 🔽https://t.co/DXtqo3pGcW

Fans in the team’s home market, encompassing New York State, Connecticut, north and central New Jersey, and northeast Pennsylvania, will have access to the games on Amazon.
Esteemed Yankees play-by-play announcer, Michael Kay, alongside the YES Network crew will host the Amazon airings.
Long-standing Yankees fans, who have grumbled in recent years about the shift of games to digital platforms like Amazon, Apple TV, and Peacock, should not find this news shocking.
While Peacock’s return in 2024 is yet to be confirmed, Apple TV is set to broadcast the games. In 2024, Yankees games will be aired through not less than eight networks or digital services.
Apart from Amazon and Apple TV+, broadcasting giants including ESPN, Fox, FS1, MLB Network, TBS, and the YES Network will also showcase diverse Yankees games, as reported by CableTV.com.
This changing dynamic will make it a bit more complicated for fans to locate Yanks games, but it is undeniably indicative of the future trajectory of sports broadcasting, not limited solely to MLB.
The NFL has also joined the streaming bandwagon in recent times, with some experts foreseeing even a streaming-only Super Bowl in the upcoming years.
Yankees fans have shown a marked resistance against the digital transition. A case in point is popular sports commentator Chris Russo’s 2022 outburst.
He voiced his vexation about the difficulties faced while trying to watch a game on Amazon, vowing to “howl at the moon” in case of any issues.
Given this backdrop, it is understandable that Yankees fans reacted to Friday’s news with frustration.

This is the worst deal in baseball. I had Prime, MLB TV and NY local cable last year and still couldn’t watch these games https://t.co/scK5VWUPMM
