The founder and CEO of The Ringer, Bill Simmons has recently expressed his opinions regarding the documentary series on Apple TV+ called "The Dynasty: New England Patriots" which delves profoundly into one of the most prosperous NFL clubs.
Simmons, who is widely regarded as one of the most well-known supporters of the Patriots squad, expressed contempt during Friday’s episode of "The Bill Simmons Podcast" as per Ben Axelrod of Awful Announcing.

In a discussion with Chuck Klosterman, Simmons registered a number of problems within the series. His first critique was on the part of depicting the former decorated head coach of the Patriots, Bill Belichick. He found that his portrayal was different when compared to the owner of the club, Robert Kraft.
He shared, "It’s very well edited and very well done. It is so anti-Belichick and so pro-Kraft that it’s hard for me to wrap my head around. It’s the equivalent of if the HBO executive who greenlit The Sopranos and then was running HBO during The Sopranos then did a documentary about The Sopranos, and [creator, head writer, and executive producer] David Chase was just s**t on and dismissed half the time. That’s what it feels like watching it."
Klosterman in turn goes with the point Simmons made and expressed that the series has not shown Belichick in a positive way and the six-time Super Bowl winning and one of the most prominent coaches of all time was aware of this fact.
Klosterman said, "Belichick seems to know this. You can see his posture during his interview". To which the Shorty Award recipient replied, "I know for a fact he didn’t want to do the interview because he knew what was happening and they made him do it. It’s 100 percent true."
Simmons also mentions how the Super Bowls victories of the Patriots namely the second and the third were considered afterthought and the real foundation was not shown.
He further continues, "If you’re going to do a dynasty and you’re going to dive into some of the problems, you have to build the foundation of what they built in the first three episodes. All the stuff they did with the way they did it and the mentality they had, to me, is worth five minutes… you didn’t show us what they built… the real heart of this dynasty starts with the second and third episodes."
The ten-episode series will air its last episode on March 15th and has been directed by Matthew Hamacheck. The executive producers of the series are Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and Sara Bernstein.
