The University of Michigan Wolverines engraved their name in the annals of college football history by setting a new Scouting Combine record.

Bringing together 18 prospects in Indianapolis, they dismissed the previous record of 16 players set by LSU in 2020.

The Wolverines achieved this remarkable feat shortly after their national championship win.

“It feels like Schembechler Hall around here,” said Michigan edge rusher Braiden McGregor.

“Everywhere I’ve looked, you see everybody. It’s awesome. Everybody’s saying, ‘Wow, you guys roll deep,’ so it’s pretty cool.”

The key representatives from Michigan include quarterback J.J. McCarthy, defensive lineman Kris Jenkins, receiver Roman Wilson, offensive lineman Zak Zinter, defensive back Mike Sainristil, linebacker Junior Colson and many others who showed exceptional talent and skills during the event.

Only five other schools managed to leave a similar impact by inviting at least 10 players.

“Just shows you the kind of guys we had on the team, the kind of team we had,” Barrett said. “Just shows you that we were national champs for a reason. It just shows full display of that.”

Out of the 321 prospects invited to Indianapolis this year, 18 were from Michigan. In essence, the Wolverines comprised of 5.6 percent of the entire attendee list.

After winning the national championship, Wolverine players scattered across the country for pre-draft training.

Their reunion at the Indianapolis Scouting Combine resultantly created an event resembling Schembechler Hall’s atmosphere.

The 2020 Tigers’ 16-player record now falls short against the Wolverines’ current figure. This presents an interesting new dimension in the LSU-Michigan rivalry.
