Months after reports placed he and his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian partying at the same Los Angeles nightclub, former NBA champion Lamar Odom cleared the air. Photos taken by paparazzi in October 2019 sparked speculation of an intentional encounter. However, Odom assures it was simply a case of coincidental timing.
“People were telling me about the pictures, it’s funny,” Odom told reporters in an exclusive interview with ET Live in January 2020. “Honestly, I didn’t see them at the club at all. Maybe that’s why they call it ‘Club Hyde,’ right?” he added with a chuckle, referencing the venue’s name.
Odom went on to explain, “It wasn’t like I was intentionally hiding, but it is pretty dark in there. I actually ran into LeBron James that night, but Khloe and Kylie? Nope, didn’t see them.”
Apparently, Odom maintains a cordial relationship with his former spouse.
“If we do bump into each other, it’s all love,” he shared. “A kiss on the cheek, ‘good to see you,’ you know, still friends.”
Odom and Khloe Kardashian were married from 2009 to 2016. Their relationship was a recurring theme on the reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom met in 2009 and were hitched just one month later in a lavish ceremony. Their love story was portrayed on the show, “Khloe & Lamar,” which offered viewers a glimpse into their lives as newlyweds.
However, the fairytale quickly turned into a struggle. Odom’s battle with substance abuse and reports of infidelity began to cast a shadow over their marriage. In 2013, Kardashian, heartbroken and facing a difficult reality, filed for divorce.
Just two years later, in 2015, tragedy struck. Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel and hospitalized in critical condition. Kardashian, despite their separation, rushed to his side and put the divorce proceedings on hold to support him through his recovery. Odom spent four days in a coma, and his near-death experience had a profound impact on both of them.
After regaining consciousness, Odom completed a 30-day drug rehabilitation program. While there was hope for reconciliation, it wasn’t meant to be. Kardashian, ultimately, refiled for divorce after Odom’s recovery. Their split was finalized in December 2016.
Lamar Odom was drafted in 1999 by the Los Angeles Clippers with the fourth overall pick. However, his time with the Clippers was marred by off-court struggles. During his four seasons there, he faced two suspensions for violating the league’s anti-drug policy.
Seeking a fresh start, Odom signed with the Miami Heat as a restricted free agent in 2003. After a single season with the Heat, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he found his greatest success. Odom spent seven seasons with the Lakers, becoming a key contributor to their championship runs in 2009 and 2010. He even earned the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2011, recognizing his excellence coming off the bench.
Unfortunately, Odom’s career took a downward turn after his departure from the Lakers. Traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, his performance declined. He returned to the Clippers in a brief stint in 2012, followed by a short-lived attempt to continue playing professionally in Spain in 2014.
