For the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Chet Holmgren contributed 15 points and seven rebounds. Despite their efforts, the Thunder couldn’t maintain their lead, slipping to second place in the Western Conference behind the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Although the Thunder started strong, leading 20-8 early in the game, the Lakers fought back and tied the game at 25-all by the end of the first quarter. They extended their lead to 52-43 by halftime, despite committing 12 turnovers in the first half.
In the second half, the Lakers continued to dominate, leading by as many as 17 points in the third quarter and ultimately securing a 116-104 victory. D’Angelo Russell’s consecutive 3-pointers helped the Lakers establish a commanding lead, and they comfortably closed out the game to win the season series against the Thunder 3-1.
