“The Phillies are high on my list to win the World Series this year” Former MLB Player Names Bryce Harper Led Philadelphia Phillies as Early Favorites for 2024 Championship

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves enter the 2024 MLB season as the favorites for the National League pennant but don’t count out the Philadelphia Phillies just yet. After reaching the World Series in the 2022, the team followed it up with another exceptional 2023 season where they fell just one win short of a second consecutive pennant.

After barely missing out on a World Series appearance last season, one analyst believes this could be the year the Phils break their 16-year championship drought. Talkin’ Baseball’s Trevor Plouffe went out on a limb naming Philadelphia as the team to beat in 2024.

“They have done it. Done it like perfectly,” said Plouffe. “The Phillies are high on my list to win the World Series This Year”

President of Baseball Operation David Dombrowski has done an exemplary job of assembling one of the most talented roster in the majors over the last few seasons. Two-time NL MVP Bryce Harper remains one of the biggest names in baseball. All-Stars Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto and Nick Castellanos are all set to return. That provides the Phillies with one of the most potent offenses in the league.

Plouffe believes that with Bryce Harper on roster, it is only a matter of time before the Phillies win a third championship for the franchise.

Since joining Philadelphia in 2019, Harper has recorded 122 home runs, 368 RBIs and 58 stolen bases and was named the NL MVP in 2021.

Plouffe also cites the team’s great chemistry off the field as another factor why the club could be successful.
