The New England Patriots are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
The veteran backup has been playing cover for a host of teams including the Commanders behind Sam Howell.
Ben Violin of the Boston Globe has reported New England are very keen to bring Bissett back to New England after a successful spell behind Tom Brady.
A move for Brissett ahead of the 2024 draft could point to the Patriots, who have the number three overall pick, to select across the board.
“I definitely got really lucky to have a guy like that in my corner,” Howell told Nathaniel Marrero of Commander Country. “He came here to compete. He’s done a really good job not only for him coming here and competing, but he’s also here trying to help me.
“He’s been an awesome guy to have. He’s been an awesome friend to me. We have a great relationship, so I’m just super thankful to have a guy like that in the locker room.”
The veteran line caller could be a Patriots player again and reuniting with OC Alex Van Pelt.
