“I don’t see him leaving” Deebo Samuel Sees Brandon Aiyuk’s Long-term Future With San Francisco 49ers

The 2023 San Francisco 49ers possessed one of the most dynamic offenses we have seen in years. Christian McCaffrey ranked first amongst all running backs last year with 21 total touchdowns. Deebo Samuel’s speed, agility and versatility made him one of the most unique offensive weapons in the NFL. George Kittle firmly established himself as one of the leading tight ends in the game and Jauan Jennings had some big plays during last month’s Super Bowl.

Perhaps one of the most important pieces of Kyle Shanahan’s offense is the extremely talented Brandon Aiyuk. The 6’0″ wide receiver out of Arizona State has been sensational since making his NFL debut in 2020.

Aiyuk finds himself approaching the final year of his rookie contract and is yet to finalize an extension with the Bay Area club. After a successful four-year spell with the team, there will be plenty of interest for the receiver if he does hit the open market.

Per a recent piece from Pro Football Talk, teammate Deebo Samuel believes Aiyuk isn’t going anywhere.

“Yeah, I love that guy. I don’t see him leaving, though,” said Samuel.

Make of that what you will, but 49ers fans will be thrilled at the prospect of one of their star players re-signing a long-term deal.

49ers GM John Lynch has also expressed his desire to hold on to Aiyuk previously stating “Brandon’s been a fantastic player for us.”

Over four seasons with the organization, Aiyuk has racked up 3931 receiving yards, 269 receptions and 27 total touchdowns.

The 49ers have several player on hefty contracts and it will be interesting to see how they manage their payroll over the coming year. After another exceptional season, Shanahan and the 49ers will be keen to retain one of their most dangerous weapons.
